Karak tea was developed in South Asia and is traditionally served as a street drink in India. It is thought that when migrant workers from India and Pakistan arrived in Qatar in the 1950s and 1960s to work in the oil and natural gas industries, they carried their traditional tea with them. The tea provided migrant laborers who were starting a new life with a flavor of home. When Qataris tried Masala Chai, they were inspired to create their own version. Masala Chai gradually became a part of Qatari culture and food.

Karak tea, also known as Kadak chai or tea, is a traditional Indian tea that is robust and flavorful. The term karak literally means "strong," so you know this taste will pack a punch - in the greatest manner imaginable! In India, karak chai is often brewed with creamy, whole-fat milk.
